2026 Plant Festival - Volunteer Registration

Volunteers are the heartbeat of any festival and we need your help bringing our festival magic to life.

The Yukon Plant Guild is looking for 15 volunteers to support us in the 2nd edition of our festival. Whether you're assisting one of our many expert presenters, welcoming and orienting participants, or helping in the kitchen, there is a job for everyone!

Why volunteer at the Yukon Plant Festival?

Volunteering is a way to connect more deeply with our community and experience the festival from a different perspective.

Here is what you need to know:

Festival dates and times: Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 9 am to 5 pm.

Volunteer commitment: we are asking you to volunteer for a total of 6 hours during the festival weekend where you will be asked to sign-up and complete 3 x 2-hour shifts.

Volunteer benefits: in exchange for your volunteer time we will give you a volunteer pass. You get access to the festival site without needing to purchase a festival ticket.

Volunteer pass: allows you to register for 2 workshops: 1 per day. You can attend the 2 workshops outside of your volunteer shifts. You get a free lunch on each day of the festival and access to the rest of the festival activities. You also get a 50% discount off the ticket price for the dinner on Saturday evening.

Mandatory orientation meeting: all volunteers must attend the orientation meeting scheduled on Wednesday, July 15 at 6 pm. The meeting will be held online and in person in Whitehorse. We will confirm the meeting location and send you a link for the online meeting.

Shift times: The volunteer shifts will be scheduled on Saturday between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm and on Sunday between 8 am to 7 pm.
Location: Mount Lorne Community Centre (on Annie Lake Road, 2 kilometers from the intersection with the South Klondike highway). You are responsible for arranging your own transportation to the Mount Lorne Community Centre.
Overnight camping: Camping is available onsite on Saturday, July 18 with a limited number of spots. If you choose to stay overnight at the Mount Lorne Community Centre please advise the festival coordinator.
