Global Trade & Compliance Manager

Global Trade & Compliance Manager

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on trade & compliance professional from cross-border e-commerce or small-parcel B2C logistics who can own shipping compliance, product classification, and day-to-day execution of customs infrastructure. This is a hands-on execution role where you'll be responsible for the filing, the classification, and the broker calls yourself, not managing a team that does.

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced in regulatory, compliance, and import infrastructure management. The ideal candidate is also a results-driven, effective executor that implemented needed changes quickly with detail-oriented precision.

What You’ll Own

Regulatory foresight — Monitor US / EU / UK / AU trade regulation changes (tariffs, de minimis thresholds, customs requirements) and translate them into concrete, actionable impact assessments for fulfillment operations. US Import Infrastructure (hands-on) — Execute and maintain Ecomflow's Importer of Record (IOR) setup: file and manage documentation for Section 321 and De Minimis entries, maintain Customs Bonds and Powers of Attorney, and run the day-to-day broker/surety relationships and CBP filing processes. EU Import Infrastructure (hands-on) — Manage and keep current the IOSS, VAT, and EORI setups, and execute the operational changes needed as de minimis and import rules evolve. HS Code / HTS classification at scale — Own and maintain HS Code/HTS classification datasets using tools like Avalara or Trademo; build and document the SOPs, and work directly with the Tech team on ERP/WMS data mapping and classification system integration. Product compliance execution — Prepare and maintain the proper classification and documentation for FDA codes, MSDS, NON-DG letters, lithium battery / UN 38.3 certification, and other restricted-goods documentation. Brand onboarding compliance — Be the working point-of-contact for client questions on documentation and regulatory requirements needed for fulfillment — this is direct client-facing execution, not relationship oversight. Day-to-day coordination — Work directly with brokers, sureties, forwarders, regulators, external legal, and warehouse managers to keep filings, renewals, and documentation moving — doing the calls and follow-ups yourself, not delegating them.

Requirements

This role is operational trade compliance for e-commerce fulfillment — not corporate sanctions/FCPA auditing, export-control/dual-use compliance, or aviation/airport cargo security.

You have extensive experience and expertise (6-12 years) in managing and meeting global trade and compliance regulations working Background working in cross-border eCommerce fulfillment across a wide range of products is a must Experience in bridging customs rules with e-commerce technology (WMS, APIs, automated classification databases) is a must Hands-on experience managing HS/HTS classification systems is a must You must speak and write in excellent Chinese (Mandarin) and English You must be based in HK or China You can handle multiple time-sensitive priorities without losing control You’re good at explaining things clearly (even when they’re messy or complex) You’re organised and don’t drop the ball You’re comfortable working with different teams and chasing things when needed You’re proactive: if something is stuck, you formulate a plan to fix it and ensures it’s implemented correctly
