Writes of Summer - Drabble Edition

Deadline: July 31, 2026, 11:59pm

Entry Fee: $5

Prompt: Wrong Answers Only

Start your summer with a sizzle and enter our first ever drabble contest.

What is a drabble? It’s a short story that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less. That’s our simple summer challenge!

Send us your most creative story, prompted by the phrase: wrong answers only

Use the prompt as your starting point and let it inspire you. The prompt does not have to appear in the story, though.

The contest is open to everyone.

Winners are announced by September 8, 2026.

Winning entries will have a home in our Many Voices section on the AWCS website.
