Series outline

This summer, Will is hosting a small cohort of practitioners and leaders to explore a question:
What happens when you stop trying to engineer organisational development, and start cultivating it instead? We'll come together for a series of three online workshops:

Session 1: Sensing

We'll explore the difference between mechanical and ecosystemic sense-abilities, and what shifts when you apply the latter to an organisation or practice you know well.

Session 2: Designing

Ecosystem mapping: a hands-on exercise seeing what's actually growing in your professional context. Then six cultivation principles — and how they might work as design tools.

Session 3: Cultivating

Turning a new perspective into an ongoing practice. What are your first moves, and what would sustained cultivation look like in your work?

What you'll come away with:

— 'Garden Thinking' tools you can apply to your own practice and/or your clients' organisations

— Connections with a small group of practitioners exploring similar questions — Early involvement and collaborative opportunities with Garden Thinking

Who is it for?

Practitioners who work with organisations — coaches, facilitators, consultants, OD professionals — and who are curious about how an ecological lens might deepen their work. Also relevant if you're a leader responsible for how your team develops and thinks together.

You don't need any background in ecology or garden thinking. You do need professional experience of working with teams and organisations — that's the material you'll be bringing to the sessions.
