Kyle Clark's weekly microgiving campaigns feature one Colorado non-profit each week. Through 300+ weekly campaigns, the community has raised $18M since 2020 by pooling donations of $5 or more.
In addition to nominations from the community, we welcome eligible non-profits to apply. Repeat applications are welcome if your organization's circumstances have significantly changed since your last application.
What size and type of organizations are typically featured
We feature registered 501(c)(3) non-profits (subclassification 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2)) in good standing with the IRS and the Colorado Secretary of State's Office.
Featured organizations must be based in, or serve, Colorado.
We primarily feature non-profits with an annual budget of at least $500,000, although smaller non-profits may be featured through occasional weekly campaigns that split proceeds to benefit several similar organizations at once.
Recent giving campaigns in 2026 have raised approximately $50,000-$65,000 per week. We feature trusted non-profits with the track record and infrastructure to responsibly steward a one-time influx of donations for a stated goal, project, or service area.
As our campaign will ask the public to support your organization, featured non-profits must derive a meaningful portion of their revenue from public fundraising in Colorado.
What type of work is commonly funded
We focus most of our microgiving campaigns on direct service non-profits, with occasional campaigns to support community infrastructure projects (e.g. inclusive playgrounds, community centers). We do not feature organizations primarily involved in public policy or advocacy.
We welcome applications from faith-based organizations with non-discrimination policies for clients and staff.
Word of Thanks is not designed to rescue distressed organizations
Our microgiving campaigns are not designed to be a funder of last resort or to provide rescue funding to distressed organizations. We feature stable organizations with established programs and robust community support. Our goal is to make giving accessible and meaningful to Coloradans who might not otherwise engage in philanthropy. It is vital that they trust your organization and Word of Thanks to steward their gifts with care.
