Scripture Memorization Guide

A message from Pastor Eli: Memorizing Scripture takes time, but that's part of the benefit and goodness of memorization. Work at your own pace and don't be discouraged if you don't make it through the whole passage. Select any of the exercises which best suit your individual learning style.

Scripture memorization is not about pressure, but delight. We want to savor God's word, which is why we are setting aside time to memorize it and meditate upon it. So enjoy the journey, and let your heart delight in what the Lord says!

5. Take a moment to pray or hand write this passage back to the Lord, using your own words or another bible translation such as NLT, MSG, NIRV, ERV, CSB, and EASY.

6. Reflection: How does performing an act of service from a selfish motive affect our hearts? Why is it difficult for us to put others before ourselves? What can we do to shape our hearts to obey this command?
