Requesting the return of property does not automatically guarantee its release, nor does it imply that the property will be returned immediately. Property currently being held as evidence, associated with an active criminal investigation, pending court proceedings, or subject to a court-ordered forfeiture shall remain in custody until all related criminal and/or civil matters, as well as any associated investigations, have been fully resolved.

By completing this form, you are initiating a request for review. This allows the Property & Evidence Unit to begin the process of evaluating the eligibility of the property for release and determining whether the property may be lawfully returned to the rightful owner, authorized family member, or other approved claimant.

Once you are notified that the property is ready for pickup, you have ten (10) days to pick up said property or the property will be considered abandoned and disposed as per Florida Statute.
