Industry-led study into rising Public Liability insurance costs and alternative insurance solutions for Australian music festivals.
*A brief (5 Question) insurance information request for Australian festival organisers*
This work is led by FEAT. — a sustainable innovations agency for music festivals — with support from Music Australia and Creative Australia, and industry backing from the Australian Festival Association, Folk Alliance Australia, Festival City Adelaide, and the Country Music Association of Australia. In response to the ongoing insurance challenges facing the Australian festival sector in 2024, FEAT. has been investigating the reasons behind rising Public Liability insurance costs for festivals, and exploring alternative insurance solutions.
We are requesting the support of all festival organisers to answer 5 questions about your Public Liability premiums and claims history. (Please note that the insurance solutions we are currently investigating are focused on addressing concerns around public liability costs and do not concern other types of insurance at this stage.)
We will use this information in two ways:
1. To better understand how the current insurance policy landscape is influencing and impacting on the costs and risks to your festival.
2. To explore alternative insurance solutions for our sector; specifically, the potential benefits of collective insurance models, such as a Mutual. (A Mutual is a not-for-profit, member-owned collective, designed to provide long-term premium stability, and industry-tailored insurance to serve the unique needs of an industry.)
You can support our work by answering 5 questions (below) about your festival's Public Liability insurance premiums and recent claims history. Your participation is immensely important for helping us understand which alternative insurance solutions might benefit our festival sector.
We aim to collect information to represent the experience across all Australian festival music genres and types — including small to large commercial festivals, small to large non-profit festivals, and touring festivals.
