We are looking for volunteers interested in helping out at our WHS-hosted events and community events as a representative of WHS. Community events, also called third-party fundraisers, are coordinated by an individual or business to raise money or awareness for the shelter. Although they vary in type, size, and fundraising level, each one involves people or businesses coming up with creative ways to support animals in need and often require a WHS representative to attend. We regularly receive requests to attend these third-party fundraisers, however, due to limited staff time and the number of requests we receive, unfortunately, we are often unable to have a physical presence - an important aspect of these fundraisers.
Event Volunteer tasks may include, but aren’t limited to, greeting attendees, collecting donations, talking to the public about WHS, selling raffle tickets, running games, discussing upcoming WHS events, and more. Event Volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer on their own or at least 13 years old to volunteer with a parent or guardian. Training and resources will be provided!
There is no minimum required time commitment for being an event volunteer. Once you are added to the list, you will start receiving email notifications with upcoming event dates, times, and details that are available. You can then sign up to volunteer at any events that work for your schedule.
To get started, fill out the form below! Thank you for your interest in being a WHS ambassador in our community!
