Internal Communications Coordinator Application

We're looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator to ensure effective communication among team members, board members, and volunteers.

This position is part of our Communications team, which oversees all marketing, branding, and digital presence to enhance outreach and engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

- Attend team meetings bi-weekly and as needed (as determined by your team director). *Please note that meetings will occur more frequently during event planning and execution periods.
- Record minutes during team meetings
- You will be responsible for ensuring that communication between internal stakeholders (team members, board members, volunteers) is seamless, clear, and aligned with organizational goals.
- You will be expected to maintain or oversee the creation of content for internal communication channels (emails, newsletters, etc.).
- You will work to ensure that all internal communications align with the organization’s brand voice, identity, and values.

Skills & Experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to create clear, engaging content for internal audiences (team members, board members, volunteers).
- Proficiency in communicating technical or complex ideas to diverse groups.
- Knowledge of managing digital presence (social media or website content).
- Knowledge of using digital platforms to enhance engagement and outreach (i.e. email marketing).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of branding principles and how to align internal communications with the organization’s brand identity.
- Experience in crafting marketing content for internal audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.

Other Details

- Preferred term length: 1-2 years, with reappointment eligibility based on performance
- You should expect to commit ~5 hours a week (workload may increase around major events or initiatives)
- Our headquarters are in St. Louis, Missouri, but our team mostly operates remotely.
**All team and director positions are volunteer-based.
