We’re looking for a Senior NestJS Engineer to help design, build, and scale the backend that powers Geny’s AI assistant. Your work will directly shape how thousands of business owners interact with and depend on our platform every day.
What You’ll Do
- Lead backend development using NestJS, delivering clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Architect APIs & microservices that integrate with third-party tools (e.g., Calendly, Stripe, WhatsApp, Square, Google Calendar,
Cal.com, Zoho, e.t.c).
- Design and implement scalable data flows with PostgreSQL, gRPC, Redis, and Socket connections for real-time interactions.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to integrate transformer models, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech into production-ready services.
- Own critical backend modules like authentication, payment processing, CRM integrations, and queuing systems.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, review code, and enforce best practices.
- Work closely with product & design to ship features that feel instant, reliable, and human for end users.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years in NestJS/Node.js at production scale.
- Deep understanding of REST, gRPC, and WebSockets for real-time applications.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud deployments (AWS, Docker, Docker Swarm).
- Strong API design and systems architecture skills, with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Comfortable working with AI/ML integrations (speech, NLP, or related).
Proven track record of shipping features in fast-paced, early-stage environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across remote, multicultural teams.
- Good understanding of Docker, CI/CD deployments, Kubernetes, and Linux servers.
- Pays attention to detail, writes clean code, and has strong problem-solving skills.
- Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative, asks questions, and constructively challenges existing logic to improve the product.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience integrating payment APIs (Stripe, Square, Paystack, Flutterwave).
- Familiarity with multi-market product launches and localization/internationalization.
- Contributions to open-source NestJS or Node.js projects.
- Interest in voice interfaces and conversational AI.
- Other programming languages, especially Python, are a big plus.
