Are you a woman in Nigeria passionate about technology, innovation, and financial freedom? Are you ready to learn from global experts, build real-world solutions, and launch your journey into the world of Bitcoin development?

Hack4Freedom is a 2-week, women-focused hackathon designed to provide the education, mentorship, and platform for you to build decentralized solutions for local Nigerian challenges using Bitcoin, Lightning, Nostr, and eCash.

We are looking for passionate and driven women aged 18+ from across Nigeria. You are a great fit if you are a:

- Software Developer (all levels)

- UI/UX Designer

- Product or Project Manager

- Student in a tech-related field

- Tech Enthusiast eager to learn and contribute

Event Structure & Key Dates

⏰ Timeline: August 16-31 2025

1️⃣ Day 1: Kickoff & Education (In-Person, Kaduna)

- A full day of talks, workshops, and networking to kickstart the hackathon.

2️⃣ Weeks 1-2: Build & Collaborate (Virtual)

- Project development, team collaboration, and mentorship sessions hosted on Discord and Gathertown.

3️⃣ Final Day: Demo Day & Awards (In-Person, Kaduna)

- Teams present their final projects to a panel of judges, followed by an awards ceremony and closing talks.

Hackathon Rules

📅 Runs from: August 16 - 31, 2025

🏆 Winners will be announced: August 31st in Kaduna, Nigeria

👯‍♀️Team Size: Teams must consist of 1–4 participants.

📆 Start Date: No coding may begin before the official start of the hackathon.

🎨 Original Work Only: Projects must be new. Pre-existing work must be declared.

✅ Deadline: All submissions must be made before the deadline to qualify for judging.

🫡 Eligibility: Participants must be 18+ years old, women, and based in Nigeria.

🤝 Hybrid Commitment: You must be available for both the in-person kickoff and Demo Day unless otherwise arranged.

This registration is a form of intent, not a binding commitment, but it ensures you’ll receive updates, resources, and the opportunity to officially participate.
