Mechanical/Biomedical Engineer

At Manu, we’re developing precision-engineered solutions for the biomedical industry that push the boundaries of performance, safety, and usability. As a founding mechanical/biomedical engineer, you’ll take products from initial concept through to production-ready designs, working hands-on with prototypes and collaborating across disciplines.

This is a high-responsibility role: you’ll shape not just the products but also the standards and processes that define Manu’s engineering culture for years to come.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and prototyping of precision-engineered products from concept through production. • Develop CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation to manufacturing standards. • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet safety, performance, and scalability requirements. • Collaborate with quality and compliance teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements. • Source components and materials, and coordinate with manufacturing vendors for prototyping and production runs. • Oversee physical testing, performance evaluation, and iterative refinement. • Apply design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles for scalable production. • Work closely with electronics and software teams to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) and familiarity with simulation tools. • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, etc.) and materials selection. • Understanding of product safety and regulatory compliance standards. • Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience. • Proven track record of taking mechanical products from concept to market. • Strong collaboration skills for cross-disciplinary work. • 1-2 years of relevant industry experience (regulated product experience preferred).
