PDF is excited to announce the IGnitED Competition for the third year in a row, 2026. This year, the competition aims to enable participating youth to search for new and innovative solutions around Smart Water Management in Egypt

Egypt ranks among the world’s most water-stressed nations. Rapid population growth, climate change, aging infrastructure, and inefficient irrigation threaten the Nile Basin, groundwater reserves, and overall water security.

This theme challenges young innovators to harness Robotics, Mobile Apps, and Web Platforms to optimize every stage of the water cycle from source to tap and back to the environment while empowering citizens to conserve this vital resource.

Projects should tackle one or more of the following key issues:

· Availability: How can technology secure enough clean water for households, agriculture, and industry in a changing climate?

· Efficiency: What digital or robotic solutions can reduce leaks, waste, and energy use throughout Egypt’s water distribution and irrigation networks?

· Stewardship: How can we engage communities to monitor, protect, and sustainably manage shared water resources for future generations?

PDF  will provide training services to a selected number of school students to participate in the Ignited 2026 competition

The training program includes:

• 54 training hours.
• 6 training weeks minmum.
• training sessions (3 hours/session) Your school has been accepted into the competition program and you are invited to fill in your application to be considered for selection
تعلن جمعية التطوير والتنمية عن مسابقة إجنيتد للعام الثالث على التوالى 2026، تهدف المسابقة هذا العام الى البحث عن حلول لادارة المياه الذكية في مصر
تُعد مصر من أكثر الدول معاناة من الإجهاد المائي في العالم. حيث تُهدد الزيادة السكانية السريعة، وتغير المناخ، والبنية التحتية القديمة، وأساليب الري غير الفعالة حوض نهر النيل، واحتياطيات المياه الجوفية، والأمن المائي بشكل عام.
تدعو هذه المبادرة المبتكرين الشباب إلى توظيف الروبوتات، وتطبيقات الهواتف المحمولة، والمنصات الإلكترونية لتحسين كل مرحلة من مراحل دورة المياه، من المصدر إلى الصنبور، ثم العودة إلى البيئة، مع تمكين المواطنين من الحفاظ على هذا المورد الحيوي.
يجب أن تتناول المشاريع واحدة أو أكثر من القضايا الرئيسية التالية:
· التوفر: كيف يمكن للتكنولوجيا أن تؤمّن كمية كافية من المياه النظيفة للأسر، والزراعة، والصناعة في ظل المناخ المتغير؟
· الكفاءة: ما هي الحلول الرقمية أو الروبوتية التي يمكن أن تقلل من التسربات، والهدر، واستهلاك الطاقة ضمن شبكات توزيع المياه والري في مصر؟
· الإشراف: كيف يمكننا إشراك المجتمعات المحلية في مراقبة وحماية وإدارة الموارد المائية المشتركة بشكل مستدام من أجل الأجيال القادمة؟
ستقوم جمعية التطوير والتنمية بتوفير خدمات التدريب لعدد مختار من طلاب المدرسة للمشاركة في مسابقة إيجنيتد 2026،
برنامج التدريب يشمل:
• 54 ساعة تدريبية.
• 18 محاضرة تدريب (أونلاين + أوفلاين)
• 3 المحاضرة التدريبية ثلاث ساعات

The application has 3 sections: • Personal information • English assessment (external: Test Link) • Simple IT test • Ignited_competition_tracks outlines (Link)
استمارة التقديم تتكون من 3 أجزاء: - جزء المعلومات الشخصية - جزء اختبار اللغة الانجليزية (خارجي) من الرابط - جزء خاص باختبار مبسط عن تكنولوجيا المعلومات - تصميم المسارات التدريبية الرابط
By submitting this application, the student and their guardian agree to commit to the participation requirements, responsibilities, and other specifications listed below.
Selection Criteria:
• A student enrolled in a selected and approved school.
• Aged either (12-14) or (15-17) – Grades 1 Prep to 3 Secondary.
• Very good grades in the past academic year.
• Very good English proficiency (equivalent to Berlitz Level 5).
• Shows interest in technology and innovation.
• Shows willingness to share what they learned with others.
• Pass the technical test in the application.
• Commits to attending the 54-hour extensive training program.
• Commits to participating in the final competition day event and showcase their project.

معايير الاختيار
• طالب مسجل في مدرسة تم قبولها.
• طلاب المرحلة الاعدادية التقديم فى مسار الريبورتات و مسار تصميم وتطوير البرمجيات • طلاب المرحلة الثانوية التقديم فى مسار تصميم وتطوير البرمجيات فقط. • درجات جيدة جداً في السنة الأكاديمية الماضية.
• إتقان جيد جداً للغة الإنجليزية (معادل لمستوى 5 من مستويات بيرلتز).
• يظهر اهتمامًا بالتكنولوجيا والابتكار.
• يظهر استعدادًا لمشاركة ما تعلمه مع الآخرين.
• يجتاز الاختبار التقني.
• يتعهد بحضور برنامج التدريب المكثف ومدته 54 ساعة.
• يتعهد بالمشاركة في يوم المسابقة النهائي وعرض مشروعه.

Commitment and Requirements:
By filling this application, the student and their guardian commits to:
• Providing supporting documents when needed.
• The student answers all tests themselves with no external support.
• The student takes Berlitz free language proficiency assessment without external support and provide the final results.
• Attending all training sessions (all 54 hours of training) with no absences except for emergencies.
• Students who miss more than 9 hours of training will be eliminated from the program and team.
• Attend training sessions (training venues are the computer labs of your school provided by the school) on time with no delays and if a student occurs more than 120 min. of accumulated delays will be eliminated from the program and team.
• Adhere to the highest standards of ethics, respect, integrity and compassion towards peers, teachers, and all stakeholders.
• Create and showcase a final project that provides a solution to one or more of the challenges that face Egyptian tourism and help promoting it using tech.
• Practice and prepare to present their project in front of judges on the final event day.

• الطالب يجيب على جميع الاختبارات بنفسه بدون دعم خارجي
• الطالب يخضع لاختبار مهارات اللغة من بيرلتز بدون دعم خارجي ويقدم النتائج النهائية
• حضور جميع جلسات التدريب (جميع 54 ساعة التدريب) بدون غيابات باستثناء الحالات الطارئة
• الطلاب الذين يغيبون أكثر من 9 ساعات من التدريب سيتم استبعادهم من البرنامج والفريق
• الحضور في الوقت المحدد لجلسات التدريب (مكان التدريب هو معامل الحاسب في مدرستك التي تقدمها المدرسة) بدون تأخير، وفي حال تجاوز الطالب أكثر من 120 دقيقة من التأخير المتراكم سيتم استبعاده من البرنامج والفريق
• الالتزام بأعلى معايير الأخلاق، والاحترام، والنزاهة، والتعاطف تجاه الزملاء، والمعلمين، وجميع المشاركين
• تصميم وعرض مشروع نهائي يوفر حلاً لتحدي أو أكثر يواجه السياحة المصرية ويساعد على ترويجها باستخدام التكنولوجيا
• التدرب والاستعداد لتقديم مشروعهم أمام الحكام في يوم الحدث النهائي
Commitment Fees .
Students who have passed all the tests and have been finally accepted into the competition must pay an amount of two hundred and fifty pounds only (250) commitment fees. training Program cost is 7000LE Egyptian pound fully funded by Professional Development Foundation - PDF
Training Schedule:
• Training Period: 6 weeks starting November
• Training Days: Three days a week
• Training Duration: 3 hours per session
Competition Tracks •The competition is divided into 2 main tracks: First track Robotics & how to apply robotics in solving one of the challenges related to the competition theme
•Second track is software development in which teams can design and create a mobile application supported with all modern technologies as Artificial Intelligence
•Third track is software development in which teams can design and create a website supported with all modern technologies as Artificial Intelligence
رسوم جدية المشاركة الطلاب الذين تم اجتيازهم جميع الاختبارات وتم قبولهم بشكل نهائى فى المسابقة وحضور التدريب يقومون بسداد مبلغ وقدرة مائتان وخمسون جنيهاً فقط لا غير(250) رسوم جدية الالتزام تكلفة البرنامج التدريبي 7000 الآف جنيهاً مصرية مدعومة بالكامل من جمعية التطوير والتنمية

مسارات المسابقة
• تنقسم المسابقة إلى ثلاث مسارات رئيسية: المسار الأول للروبوتات وكيفية تطبيق الروبوتات في حل أحد التحديات المتعلقة بموضوع المسابقة
• المسار الثاني هو تطوير البرمجيات حيث يمكن للفرق تصميم وإنشاء تطبيق موبيل مدعوم بجميع التقنيات الحديثة مثل الذكاء الاصطناعي
• المسار الثالث هو تطوير البرمجيات حيث يمكن للفرق تصميم وإنشاء تطبيق موقع إلكتروني مدعوم بجميع التقنيات الحديثة مثل الذكاء الاصطناعي

2. High school students can apply for the software design and development track only.- المرحلة الاعدادية والثانوية
3. Training fees per participant: fully sponsored - تكاليف التدريب مدعمة بالكامل
4. Teams compete in the school's name and with their branding - تشارك الفرق باسم المدرسة وبألوانها
- Shortlisted students are then invited to virtual group interviews after which the final acceptance decision is made.

Venue and Date Changes
PDF reserves the right to change the venue or dates of the training sessions or the final event in the event of unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, PDF will make reasonable efforts to notify the Client School as soon as possible and to minimize any disruptions.

تحتفظ الجمعية بحق تغيير تاريخ ومكان الحفل الختامي وستبذل قصارى الجهد لابلاغ المدارس المشاركة بأي تغييرات بوقت كافي.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights, including copyrights, patents, and trademarks, related to the training materials provided by PDF and its partners shall remain the exclusive property of PDF and its partners.

By submitting this application, the student and their guardian commits to:
• You agree that all images, testimonials, survey responses, photos, videos, and audio taken at or in connection with PDF camps, workshops, sessions, demo sessions, previews or any of our classes and programs are the sole and exclusive property of PDF.
• You agree that testimonials, survey responses, photos, videos, and audio may be shared and used by corporate partners, the media, or other organizations that work with PDF.
• PDF camps, workshops, sessions, demo sessions, previews or any of our classes and programs can be recorded for quality purposes and/or for marketing purposes.
• As a condition of enrollment, you must agree and authorize that pictures and or recordings may be taken of your participant(s). You also agree that any of the above-mentioned content may be used by PDF in programs promotional and marketing materials and online media.
• You agree that PDF, its owners, agents, partners, facility providers, and employees are not held liable for damages and injuries associated with PDF publishing, including any and all claims based on negligence.
• You agree that PDF in promotional materials and other print and online media may use all projects and work created while at PDF for operations purposes. These projects may be shared and used by corporate partners, the media, or other organizations that work with PDF.
