Explore the grace, rhythm, and storytelling of Kathak, one of India's most expressive classical dance forms. Led by Guru Sulagna Banerjee ji (Lucknow Gharana), this workshop is designed for both beginners, enthusiasts and seniors, providing an in-depth understanding of the techniques and artistic beauty of traditional Kathak.
Sulagna Banerjee, based in Kolkata, is a dedicated and accomplished classical dancer. A disciple of Pt. Vijay Shankar, she serves as a professional trainer at Nrityangee Kalashram and the Dover Lane Music Academy, Kolkata. In addition to her work in India, she also coaches students online across various cities in the USA.
Sulagna has graced several prestigious stages with her performances, including the Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh in Varanasi, the Khajuraho Dance Festival, and the Dover Lane Dance Festival, among others.

Senior Batch:
(Minimum 4 years of Kathak training required)
11.30 AM to 1 PM
- Tarana: A vibrant composition in Raga Kalavati and Teen Taal, featuring footwork, Tukda, Amad, Paran, Tihai.
- Abhinaya (Ram Bhajan): A soulful expressive piece with gat vao in Raga Gavati and Rupak Taal.
NOTE: Students shall be provided with the musical recording for practising after the workshop. The proceedings of the workshop shall be recorded for International Audiences.
