BasePaint is an art project to celebrate the launch of a new L2 supported (and promoted) by Coinbase.
Coinbase is about to bring millions of its crypto users to web3, and BasePaint will be featured among their "launch partners". So we are expecting some heavy traffic.
In BasePaint, artist collaborate on a shared pixel-art canvas.
Every 24 hours, this canvas is minted as an open-edition NFT.
Artists are paid out from the Open Edition mint proportionally, based on the number of pixels they painted.
To make it a nice place we are limiting access to the paintbrushes for the first couple of days.
As an artist, you'll get a very powerful brush that will allow you to draw 50x more pixels than regular people. So you'll get to define the vibe of the project (and collect higher share of profits).
The expected value of participating early is going to be high — very few artists, a lot of new traffic eager to mint things.
We expect in early days artists will earn $100-$500/day
