Programs Director Application

We're looking for an Programs Director to lead program and event development and execution, ensuring alignment with the nonprofit’s mission. Works on community impact initiatives and event planning (coordinates with the Operations team). Works closely with their Programs team members to ensure efficiency.

This position is a part of the Executive Board and Board of Directors, and leads our Programs Team, which develops and implements community-driven initiatives and event programs, fostering meaningful connections and engagement.

Responsibilities

- Attend Board of Directors meetings quarterly, attend Executive Board meetings bi-weekly or as needed, host team meetings bi-weekly or as needed, and host or attend meetings as needed during event planning.
- Attend Advisory board meetings quarterly, and host All-Hands/Community meetings bi-annually.
- Present progress reports to present during Board of Directors meetings, and report updates to E-board during E-board meetings.
- Design and implement community-building initiatives.
- Coordinate program meetings and track progress.
- Work with the outreach coordinator to engage new members.
- Organize meetings with other teams (i.e. Operations, Marketing, Finance) to align planning strategies.
- Ensure program/event details are updated and communicated with the Operations team.
- Lead monthly reviews to assess program effectiveness.
- Create necessary training materials and set guidelines and expectations for the team.
- Collaborate with other E-board members to create and update the organization’s policies, organizational structure, handbooks, and other materials.

Skills & Experience

- Must have experience in program development, event planning, or community engagement.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to design, implement, and oversee impactful programs and events.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple programs, schedules, and team coordination.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Operations team to ensure seamless event execution.
- Strong communication and outreach skills to engage community members and foster participation.
- Experience in tracking program effectiveness and using data to improve community initiatives.
- Proficiency in managing program logistics, team meetings, and strategic planning.
- Passion for community-building and commitment to the mission of Connection '24 Inc.

Other Details

Preferred term length: We’d love to have you with us for a while, but we’re flexible—let’s chat about what works best for you!

Time commitment: On average, you can expect to contribute about 2–3 hours a week, but we totally understand that life happens. We're happy to work around your schedule! *Some weeks might be a bit busier, especially leading up to major events or initiatives.

Location: While our heart is in St. Louis, Missouri, our team mostly works remotely—so you can be part of the mission from wherever you are!
