Research: How Men Build and Keep Close Friendships

I have plenty of close male friends and feel satisfied with those relationships

I have some male friends but struggle to have deeper, more meaningful conversations

I have guys I hang out with but wouldn't feel comfortable sharing real problems with them

I've lost touch with most of my male friends since college/my 20s

I find it hard to make new male friends as an adult

I wish I had male friends I could really count on during tough times

I don't really see this as an issue for me

Very interested - I'd actively seek this out

Somewhat interested - I'd consider it if it seemed worthwhile

Mildly interested - I might look into it if a friend recommended it

Not really interested - I don't see this as a priority

Not interested at all - I don't think this is something that can be "taught"

If there was a way to get better at building and maintaining close male friendships, how interested would you be?

If it was presented as skill-building rather than therapy

If it was with other guys in similar life situations (career, family stage)

If it had a clear structure and timeline (not open-ended)

If it focused on practical scenarios rather than just talking about feelings

If it was convenient (online or very local)
