Manila Improv Festival 2023 Performer Application Form

After four years, the Manila Improv Festival is back — now on its 6th run! 🙌

With all the big and small changes we've all gone through in the past few years, it seems like "new" is inescapable. New normal, new-new normal, new teams, new improv skills, new everything.

That's why for 2023, MIF's theme is "Brave the New" — a festival celebrating creative courage, brave new shows, and the fearless improvisers who dare to discover and push themselves!

FAQ:

1. When is the deadline to register?

- 11:59PM GMT+8 (Manila) on June 9, 2023 (Friday)

2. How long do the performance slots run for?

- The default is 25 minutes, but if needed, you may input how long your troupe needs for your proposed format.

3. Do the shows have to be in English?

- Not at all! Please perform in your native language.

4. How many shows can I be a part of?

- You may register with as many groups as you wish! But in the spirit of having as many different faces on stage and making space for everyone, we do encourage performers to sign up with 2-3 groups only.

5. What accommodations are there near the venue?

- We will release a list of hotels and Aribnbs nearby the venue soon. Follow fb.com/ManilaImprovFestival for more!

6. Do we need a visa to enter the Philippines?

- Most countries do not, but please check if your country needs one via this link.

7. When will the final line-up be released?

- The line-up will be released within the week of final submissions. We will be asking for more information from your team once you make the line-up.

8. I'm an individual improviser with no troupe. How can I participate?

- Outside of watching and taking workshops, we'll open up slots for mixed-performer international shows. Just send us a DM on Facebook!

* The default running time is 25 minutes. However, if your format requires more time, please let us know in advance below. We cannot guarantee that longer run times can be accommodated however, dependent on overall show programming.

* Because the festival is open to the public, ideally the shows are kept PG if children are present in the audience. If your format explores non-children-friendly themes, let us know below so we can give audiences a heads-up! :)
