3. Dandelion Pet B&B provides home from home style holiday care for small animals. Dandelion Pet B&B boarding stays are charged per hutch or cage per night (not per animal). Garden visiting services are charged per visit (not per animal / hutch) based on walking distance from Dandelion Pet B&B and boarding availability. In most cases, boarding works out cheaper than garden visiting. Please note, garden visiting is a different level of service than boarding. Bank holidays are not charged extra. All prices are subject to change from time to time.
4. There is a minimum boarding stay of 2 nights is due to the cleaning & disinfection required when guests check-out and the cost of consumables. There is a maximum boarding stay of 28 days as Dandelion Pet B&B is only for short-term holiday care. There is no maximum or minimum time period for garden visiting.
5. Dandelion Pet B&B is available to book subject to availability 365 days a year including over New Year’s Eve, Bonfire Night, Diwali, Chinese New Year and other celebrations associated with fireworks. Dandelion Pet B&B accepts no liability for any issues to your pet arising from fireworks released in the local neighbourhood.
6. Dandelion Pet B&B will provide everything for boarding stays to include bowls, water bottles, water bowls, litter trays, dry food nuggets, hay, vegetables and occasional fresh fruit as well as fresh water. If you don’t provide details of their normal diet of fresh food on their pet registration form, Dandelion Pet B&B will follow the guidance by PDSA for rabbits, guinea-pigs and hamsters. Most toys and chews can’t be fully sanitised between guests so only a couple basic plastic toys are provided as standard. You are welcome to bring any favourite food, treats, chews, blankets, toys, litter trays, litter and anything else to help your pet feel more at home and settle in quicker. Bringing a small bag of used litter to put in their litter box here can also help. Dandelion Pet B&B recommends that rabbits come with a sufficient supply of their familiar dry food as sudden changes in diet along with the stress of a new environment can trigger Gastrointestinal (GI) stasis but this risk is small.
7. Rabbits and guinea-pigs will be housed as standard in appropriate hutches outside in my family garden. Alternative arrangements are only possible with advanced prior agreement. The garden is like all other British gardens and is frequented by wildlife such as (but not limited to) birds, hedgehogs, bats, squirrels, mice, rats, amphibians and invertebrates etc. Neighbourhood cats could also visit the garden. All other animal guests are housed in a dedicated room inside my family home.
8. If using your own hutch or cage for a Dandelion Pet B&B boarding stay or garden visiting, it is your responsibility to ensure the cage is secure, safe and fit for purpose. All food, treats, toys, bedding, water bottles, bowls, enrichment and all other consumables must be supplied by you.
9. Prior to the commencement of garden visits, Dandelion Pet B&B will need to do a complementary visit to your garden to confirm access to and location of your pet’s hutch. This will be organised separately on a day and time mutually convenient.
10. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to ensure that access to your garden for garden visiting or pet taxi is safe and free from obstruction. Dandelion Pet B&B will contact you immediately if your garden becomes inaccessible due to obstruction or danger or other risk and Dandelion Pet B&B accepts no liability for any issues arising out of missed garden visits. Any missed garden visits are not refunded. Dandelion Pet B&B is unable to access gardens via a building eg your home. This service must be agreed at booking and it may not be possible to add this service on at a later date. Pet taxi does not include the transport of large cages or hutches. It is assumed the pet owner will be present at home when Dandelion Pet B&B collects and returns your pet via the pet taxi service and you will place your pet into the pet carrier. Dandelion Pet B&B will use your pet carrier(s) as standard. Dandelion Pet B&B has their own pet carriers if needed, please ask at booking. Your pet carrier should be secure & fit for purpose and will remain at Dandelion Pet B&B for the duration of your pet’s stay. Please inform Dandelion Pet B&B as soon as possible if you won’t be present as this would require a pre-visit to confirm location and access.
12. Photos of your pet will be sent to you via Facebook Messenger or email or WhatsApp and is usually via the same channel as the existing communication unless requested otherwise. Dandelion Pet B&B will always try to take the clearest possible photo of your pet but this can not always be achieved due to lighting and the position of the animal. Pre-arranged video calls / recordings are also available during your pets stay for your added reassurance. Dandelion Pet B&B usually sends 2 updates per day but this can’t not always be guaranteed. More frequent updates are provided: on day 1 to provide reassurance to you that your pets are settling in and; if there are any issues during your pet's stay. 14. Prior to a boarding check-in or commencement of garden visits, Dandelion Pet B&B must receive a completed ‘Pet Registration’ form per animal and signed terms & conditions.
15. Dandelion Pet B&B will act as guardian during your absence and will take any action which they consider suitable in order to protect and keep in good health the pet(s) named on the booking form. Dandelion Pet B&B will accept the advice of the veterinary surgeon unless you have explicity communicated your preferences or wishes in writing.
16. You acknowledge that your pet will be entering a multiple pet household when staying at Dandelion Pet B&B where there may be other animal guests and animal residents. Dandelion Pet B&B takes all reasonable actions to reduce the risk of disease however this risk cannot be eliminated entirely. Dandelion Pet B&B uses a DEFRA approved unscented disinfectant.
17. Dandelion Pet B&B strongly recommends that rabbits are fully vaccinated & have received up to date boosters for Myxomatosis and Rabbit (Viral) Haemorrhagic Disease (RVHD1 & RVHD2). Rabbits will need ‘booster’ vaccinations every 12 months after their first vaccinations. First time or overdue vaccines need three weeks to become fully effective. Vaccinations should have been given at least 14 days before check-in to allow immunity to build and recovery from any side effects which are rare. Myxomatosis and RVHD1 & RVHD2 are viruses spread by blood-sucking insects (fleas, ticks, mites, mosquitoes), spread from rabbit to rabbit contact and spread via environmental & object contamination (bedding, hutches, grass, bowls, carriers, clothing, shoes). Myxomatosis and RVHD1 & RVHD2 are often fatal and cause intense suffering to rabbits. More information about Myxomatosis and RVHD1 & RVHD2 can be found hereDandelion Pet B&B accepts no liability for conditions arising out of non vaccination.
18. Dandelion Pet B&B recommends that all pets have received preventative treatments for flystrike, ticks, fleas, mites, worms and any other disease as applicable. Mites are naturally found in some bales and packs of hay. Dandelion Pet B&B can not be held responsible for your pet going home with a mite infestation. Outdoor pets are more susceptible to flystrike due to their increased exposure to flies. To reduce the risk of flystrike, dandelion Pet B&B does the following for outdoor pets: bottoms are checked daily & cleaned as needed; wet and soiled bedding, substrate & litter removed and replaced daily. Dandelion Pet B&B accepts no liability for conditions arising out of non preventative treatment.
19. Dandelion Pet B&B highly recommends that rabbits and any other applicable pets are neutered. Dandelion Pet B&B trusts that animals booked to share a cage or hutch are of the same sex and/or have been neutered. Dandelion Pet B&B reserves the right to refuse any animal at check-in which are believed to be pregnant. Any animal that gives birth while boarding at Dandelion Pet B&B will remain here with the litter under supervision until the offspring are weaned to ensure the delicate maternal bond is not disrupted. The pet owner will incur the extra costs of boarding. Dandelion Pet B&B takes no responsibility for pregnancies or live births or rehoming litters.
20. Dandelion Pet B&B recommends that male rabbits are neutered at least 6 weeks before boarding to let hormones settle. Animals booked to share a hutch or cage which begin displaying signs of aggression or sexual harassment towards each other, may be separated at Dandelion Pet B&B’s discretion for the well being of the animals. You will be responsible for any additional boarding costs chargeable at current daily prices and that you will pay any such costs on demand.
21. Pets need to have been bonded with their new partner for at least 3 months before they can board together. Pets in bonded pairs will be taken to the vets together. Dandelion Pet B&B does not provide bonding services.
22. It is the pet owners responsibility to inform Dandelion Pet B&B of their pets medical history and current conditions.
23. Dandelion Pet B&B only accommodates healthy animals, unless the condition is long term, managed and non-contagious. If your pet is under veterinary care and receiving treatment for non-contagious medical condition(s), Dandelion Pet B&B are happy to assist in your pet’s medical programme by administering prescribed minor medications and/or supplements on your behalf free of charge for boarding animals. Please ensure your pet has enough medication for the duration of their stay. This service is not included as standard with garden visits due to the inability to maintain hand hygiene and ensure a large enclosed space while holding the animal however please discuss this further if needed.
24. Dandelion Pet B&B reserves the right to refuse any animal at check-in which are believed to be in poor health or condition which includes dirty bottoms, mite infestations, severely matted fur or has an undisclosed injury. To reduce the risk of any increased stress during their recovery and to protect other guests from potential contagious diseases.

Unpaid fees such as veterinary costs will be referred to the small claims court for settlement which will include all court costs.
28. Animal insurance is the responsibility of the pet owner. A vet health plan is not insurance.
29. Sadly small animals can succumb to illness and sometimes pass away very
suddenly. If in the rare circumstances this does happen, Dandelion Pet B&B will contact you immediately to discuss your wishes. If contact with you is unsuccessful, your pet will be placed in cold storage until you communicate your wishes. Dandelion Pet B&B can accept no liability in the event of your pets passing away while in Dandelion Pet B&B’s care.

In the event of an issue where you are uncontactable, your emergency contact will be someone who can pay a bill and/or can assist Dandelion Pet B&B in a decision about treatment / surgery / euthanasia. Your emergency contact will also help Dandelion Pet B&B to re-establish communication with you if you fail to collect your pet on the agreed check-out date. You are responsible for ensuring your emergency contact has given you permission to share their contact details with Dandelion Pet B&B. Please also share Dandelion Pet B&B’s contact details with your emergency contact.

33. Dandelion Pet B&B highly recommends that handovers and check-in are conducted at the door step for insurance purposes, to reduce the risk of COVID transmission, to ensure your pet a smooth & quiet introduction to their new environment and to keep other guests undisturbed. On arrival, Dandelion Pet B&B may perform a basic visual inspection of your pet in a secure room before they are introduced to their cage or hutch.
