Job Overview:

Tapitt is looking for enthusiastic Backend Developer Interns to join our growing engineering team. You’ll be responsible for developing robust APIs, server-side logic, and database operations to support our digital platforms and applications. This is a great opportunity for candidates who are eager to gain practical experience in backend architecture and cloud infrastructure. This internship is ideal for those who want to grow as backend developers while working in a startup-driven, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

API & Server-Side Development:

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Node.js, Express.js, and Nest.js. • Ensure data security, performance, and scalability of backend services. • Handle server-side logic, authentication, and middleware implementation.

Database Management:

• Integrate and manage data using SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases. • Write optimized queries, manage schema design, and handle database migrations. • Write optimized queries, manage schema design, and handle database migrations.

Integration & Deployment:

• Integrate APIs with frontend and mobile apps. • Debug, test, and improve application performance. • (Bonus) Work on deploying services using AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or similar platforms.

Other Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with frontend developers and project managers to define API requirements
• Document backend processes and update API references
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and sprint planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✅ Mandatory Skills:

• Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, and Nest.js • Strong understanding of REST API development and integration • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases • Knowledge of authentication and middleware (JWT, OAuth, etc.)

✅ Bonus Skills (Brownie Points):

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Experience using AWS RDS, S3, or Azure Blob Storage • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) or CI/CD pipelines • Exposure to microservice architecture
