Founding Product Designer

At Shake, we are building a new kind of experience in the sports and entertainment space. Our mobile app allows friends to compete in free-to-play handshake “bets” with sponsored stakes. We are:

1) Combining the social elements of fantasy sports with the thrill of sports betting…without the risk

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Founding Product Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the visual identity of our platform, creating engaging user interfaces, and ensuring a seamless user experience. You will work closely with both business and engineering leaders at Shake to build the platform from the ground up.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Branding:
- Develop and maintain Shake's visual identity, including logos, color schemes, typography, and other branding elements.
- Create and maintain a high-fidelity design system to be leveraged in our mobile app, communications, marketing, and more.
User Interface (UI) Design:
- Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that align with our brand and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure the feasibility and implementation of designs.
User Experience (UX) Design:
- Conduct user research to understand the needs and behaviors of our target audience.
- Develop wireframes, user flows, and interaction designs that optimize usability and engagement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the founding team to translate business goals into design solutions.
- Present and communicate design ideas and concepts to stakeholders effectively.
Iterative Design:
- Gather and incorporate feedback from users and team members to continuously improve the product.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Product Designer or similar role, preferably in the consumer mobile app space.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar (Figma preferred)
- Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Ability to create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and other high-fidelity designs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and explain design decisions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a startup or early-stage company (consumer preferred)
- Knowledge of gamification principles and their application in product design.
- Familiarity with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
