Hosted at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bangalore, the PRISM Fellowship is a 2-month immersive, residential fully-funded research programme designed to nurture the next generation of life science researchers from underrepresented and marginalised backgrounds in India.
The PRISM Fellowship, a collaboration between Project EduAccess and NCBS Bangalore, offers a comprehensive research experience, equipping selected Fellows with skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities essential for academic and professional success in STEM fields. Fellows will receive:

Applications close at 11.59 pm IST on Sunday, 19 April 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for virtual interviews in the first/ second week of May 2026. The Fellowship will begin on Monday, 1 June 2026 and conclude on Friday, 31 July 2026.
Please apply for the PRISM Fellowship by filling this Application Form only if you meet the eligibility criteria below. You are eligible to apply if:
(i) you are currently pursuing a master's degree or are currently in the fourth year of a four-year bachelor’s degree, the third year of a three-year bachelor’s degree, or the third to fifth year of an integrated/ dual degree in any science subject, and will remain so for the duration of the fellowship,
(ii) you are disadvantaged due to social position, economic barriers, geography, or similar factors, and
(iii) you are passionate about life sciences, particularly developmental biology, genetics, ecology, neurobiology and bioinformatics.
We strongly encourage applications from students from underrepresented and marginalised communities in STEM, particularly SC, ST, OBC, PwD, religious minorities, women and gender minorities and Northeast India communities.
