Ed3 DAO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates at the intersection of education and emerging technology. Our mission is to upskill one million educators through online learning and our global community of practice. We strive to operate as an organization aligned with living systems, guided by the eight principles of regenerative economies. We create practical, pedagogically-grounded courses in artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies - all built to serve K-12 and higher education institutions.
We are a fully remote, asynchronous, and globally distributed organization that blends the impact of a nonprofit with the agility, ambition, and innovative spirit of a startup.
We’re hiring a US-based Learning Experience Designer to design and write educator-focused learning experiences that integrate generative artificial intelligence (AI) with research-backed pedagogies (e.g. PBL, UDL, SEL, Design Thinking, Assessment Literacy). You’ll turn complex AI concepts into clear, classroom-ready learning experiences, mapped to recognized frameworks (e.g., UNESCO AI competencies), and aligned to learner outcomes that can translate into credentials. You will write and refine curriculum assets, implement them in the learning management system, and continually adapt content based on feedback, research, and evolving AI tools in close collaboration with the Learning Systems team.
✔ Partner with the Learning System team to co design curriculum across courses, modules, and pathways so that educators experience a clear throughline from orientation to capstone.
✔ Develop/revise curriculum across a variety of pedagogies (PBL, UDL, SEL, Design Thinking, assessment literacy) that translate AI concepts (LLMs, evaluation, data ethics, IP/plagiarism, bias/safety, multimodality) into practice.
✔ Design authentic assessments.
✔ Design and create compelling content and engaging learning activities, applying adult learning principles to enhance retention and knowledge transfer in a primarily asynchronous e-learning environment.
✔ Edit instructional videos to support course content and enhance the educator learning experience (willingness to learn is welcome).
✔ Sequence content across modules and courses so that knowledge, skills, and mindsets build progressively rather than repeating or fragmenting.
✔ Review and update existing courses for relevancy, timeliness, accuracy, accessibility, and quality; correct errors and retire/replace outdated content.
✔ Help improve the course development process by proposing and revising rubrics, templates, onboarding, expectations, and style/citation guidelines.
✔ Upload curriculum content into the learning management system, keep all modules updated with the latest revisions, and maintain clear version control so that live courses always reflect current content.
✔ Run and document QA: verify that every deliverable meets scope, outcomes, accessibility, and brand standards before release.
✔ Maintain project documentation, material folders, and review all curriculum components with subject matter experts based on evaluation/feedback to measure program effectiveness.
Accessibility, Inclusion, & Integrity
✔ Embed UDL and inclusive design (multiple means of engagement/expression, plain language, alt text, captions, color contrast, cognitive load).
✔ Address AI safety/ethics/IP (bias, privacy, attribution, plagiarism) explicitly in learning activities and guidance.
✔ Ensure that curriculum reflects educational equity commitments and honors diverse learners, communities, and linguistic backgrounds.
✔ Support pilots of new modules or courses, synthesizing learner data and feedback to recommend concrete improvements on a regular cadence.
✔ Work with the Learning Systems team to identify curriculum gaps, propose new modules or assets, and close those gaps through focused iterations.
✔ Deliver free workshops for the Ed3 DAO community, creating slide decks, handouts, and talk tracks.
✔ Engage with Ed3 DAO learners on Mighty Networks - answer questions, surface exemplars, collect feedback, and share updates.
✔ Participate in team meetings and conferences, contributing to session proposals, demos, and booth collateral.
✔ 3+ years of experience teaching in the classroom at any of the K-12 levels.
✔ 2+ years in curriculum/instructional design.
✔ Demonstrated ability to write clear, engaging instructional content for educators.
✔ Practical AI literacy: hands-on experience using and experimenting with AI tools.
✔ Ability to work asynchronously and autonomously with strong team collaboration yet minor supervision.
✔ Comfort with iterative development and versioning; strong attention to detail and documentation.
✔ Willing and able to learn video editing.
✔ Located within the United States.
✔ Experience designing adult professional learning.
✔ Experience mapping to competencies.
✔ Experience building and maintaining online coursework.
✔ Tooling: Google Workspace, Canva/Slides, LLMs.
