CastleDAO Founder Residency Waiver, Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk

Please read this document carefully. It affects your legal rights. By signing, you confirm you understand and agree to its terms, together with the CastleDAO Founder Residency Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, which govern your participation in the Residency alongside this Waiver.

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand that my participation in the CastleDAO Founder Residency (the "Residency"), organised by Gutofloodo Ltd ("CastleDAO"), involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

The general risks of staying and working in a historic castle and on a working farm estate, including uneven surfaces, staircases, low doorways, and areas not designed for modern accessibility;

Shared accommodation and communal living at Rock Farm, including cabins, yurts, and bell tents;

Optional recreational and wellness activities offered during the Residency, including kayaking and other water-based activities on the River Boyne, trail walks on uneven or rural terrain, and guided breathwork or movement sessions;

Travel on the organised bus transfer between Rock Farm and Slane Castle;

General risks of group travel, shared workspaces, and outdoor movement around the castle grounds.

I confirm that my participation in all such activities is voluntary, and that I am choosing to take part with full knowledge of the risks described above.

2. Medical Fitness & Disclosure

I confirm that I am not aware of any medical condition, injury, or impairment that would make it unsafe for me to attend the Residency or take part in the activities described in Section 1.

I understand this information will be used only for safety and duty-of-care purposes during the Residency, in accordance with the CastleDAO Privacy Policy, and I consent to its processing on that basis.

I authorise CastleDAO and its on-site staff or activity providers to arrange emergency medical treatment or transport on my behalf if I am unable to give consent myself, and I agree to be responsible for any costs of such treatment not covered by my own insurance.

3. Personal Insurance

I confirm that I am strongly encouraged to obtain my own travel, health, and personal accident insurance covering the full duration of my stay in Ireland, including the activities described in Section 1. I understand that CastleDAO's public liability insurance protects it against third-party claims and is not a substitute for my personal insurance.

4. Release & Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, I release, discharge, and agree not to bring a claim against CastleDAO, its organisers, staff, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and activity providers, from any liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from my voluntary participation in the Residency and its optional activities.

5. Conduct During Activities

I agree to follow all safety instructions given by CastleDAO staff, activity leaders (including any kayaking or water-safety instructor), or Rock Farm/transfer staff, and to not take part in any activity, including water-based activity, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or against the advice of an activity leader.

6. Photography, Videography & Media Consent

I understand that CastleDAO and its partners may take photographs, video, and audio recordings of me throughout the Residency, including during working sessions, meals, activities, and informal moments, as well as during the recorded and broadcast Demo Day.

I consent to CastleDAO capturing, using, and publishing my name, image, likeness, and voice in such photography and videography, for purposes including (without limitation) the Demo Day broadcast, CastleDAO's website and social media, sponsor and partner promotional materials, and future marketing of the Residency, on an unpaid basis and without further notice to me, in accordance with Section 6 of the CastleDAO Terms & Conditions.

My signature below confirms my consent to these terms, unless I have separately notified CastleDAO in writing that I withhold this consent. I understand I may withdraw this consent at any time by notifying CastleDAO in writing, though this will not affect any use that has already occurred (for example, footage that has already been published or broadcast).

7. Governing Law

This waiver is governed by the laws of Ireland. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the remainder will continue to apply.
