As part of the 2026 Maine Ocean Festival, Little Death is curating an art market. We're seeking Maine based artists and makers to join us on a June 21st from 10:30am - 4pm. We're especially (but not exclusively) interested in artists and makers whose work/practice has a connection with marine life, nature, or science. We don’t expect every item vended to strictly fall into those categories, but rather are seeking vendors who will contribute to the overall intended energy of the Ocean Festival. We are open to vendors who intend to sell works, but also are open and excited by the possibility of vendors focused more on education or offering an art based activity for attendees. Surprise us!
ABOUT
The Maine Ocean Festival is an annual event to support the mission of the Oceanarium and Education Center in Bar Harbor. Through live music, games, and presentations, the Ocean Festival aims to celebrate and educate on the topics of local ecology, marine biology, fisheries and aquaculture, dark skies, and citizen science. Traditionally the festival has been a one day event, achieving 400 attendees in its record year. For 2026, they’ve decided to extend the festival over a long weekend, introducing more activities and opportunities to engage with their programming including an Art Market!
WHEN
The Maine Ocean Festival runs over three days: June 19th, 20th, and 21st from 9am - 4pm.
The Art Market is one day only: Sunday June 21st from 10:30am - 4pm.
COSTNo booth fee! You take home everything you earn. It is important to note that the market is a part of the Ocean Festival–– there is a per person admission fee. Market access is included with a festival ticket, only. The admission fee is waived for vendors.
NOTES
This event is rain or shine. The market is outside and may have uneven ground. Booths are sized for a 10ft tent. Some tents/tables are available on request. If your participation relies on being able to use a table or tent from us, please note that in your submission.
DEADLINE
We'll be accepting submissions until April 19th at 11:59pm or until all spots are filled. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis so don't wait!
