Speaker Guidebook and Call for Speakers

Exploring Futures. Challenging Assumptions. Shaping Decisions

Beyond Now is a one-day international summit exploring strategic foresight, futures thinking and decision-making under uncertainty.

We are bringing together a small, multidisciplinary group of up to 80 participants, practitioners, researchers, strategists, innovators and others interested in understanding change and engaging with possible futures.

What we're looking for

We are curating a coherent programme rather than a collection of standard presentations. We are particularly interested in contributions that give participants a new way of seeing change, possible futures, or decisions they may need to make differently.

Contributions should be: - Relevant: Clearly connected to strategic foresight, futures thinking or decision-making under uncertainty.

- Substantive: Based on research, practice, a case, method, experience or a meaningful question.

- Distinctive: Adds something to the programme rather than repeating familiar conversations.

- Engaging: Accessible to a multidisciplinary audience and designed to encourage reflection or discussion.

Possible areas

- Futures & Foresight: Strategic foresight, futures thinking, futures literacy, possible and alternative futures, imaginaries.
- Signals, Change & Uncertainty: Weak signals, emerging developments, trends, disruptions, horizon scanning and navigating uncertainty.
- Methods & Practice: Scenarios, foresight methods and tools, participatory approaches, serious play, experimentation and real-world applications.
- Foresight, Strategy & Decision-Making: Foresight in organisations, strategy, innovation, leadership, transformation, long-term thinking and decisions under uncertainty.
- Emerging Futures & New Perspectives: Technology and emerging change, societal and systemic futures, interdisciplinary research, experimental approaches and new ways of thinking about foresight.

These are broad areas, not fixed categories, cross-disciplinary contributions are very welcome.

Possible formats

Your contribution could take the form of a:

- Talk: a focused presentation sharing an idea, case, research finding or perspective - Practical session: an interactive method, exercise or approach - Moderated conversation: a deeper discussion around a specific question, experience or area of expertise - Panel: a focused conversation bringing together different perspectives

- Full access to the Summit - Lunch and coffee breaks - Opportunity to share your work with an international audience - Networking with practitioners, researchers and professionals - Visibility through event communications

What Happens Next

As Beyond Now is intentionally small, we are looking for a limited number of contributions that complement one another across different perspectives and fields. Submitting an application does not guarantee a speaking slot.

Selected speakers will be contacted to discuss the proposed contribution, format and programme placement.

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Beyond Now.

We look forward to exploring what you bring to the conversation.
