1. Acknowledgment of Participation
I understand that I am voluntarily attending and/or participating in the event listed above. I understand that the event may include activities, movement, crowds, equipment, vendors, photography, videography, music, lighting, staging, food, beverages, transportation, or other conditions that may involve risk.
I understand that participation in or attendance at this event may involve certain known and unknown risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, physical injury, illness, property damage, allergic reactions, equipment-related injury, contact with other participants, and other risks associated with public or private events.
I voluntarily choose to attend and/or participate in this event and knowingly assume all risks associated with my attendance and participation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the event organizer, host, client, venue, sponsors, vendors, contractors, volunteers, staff, photographers, videographers, media partners, and their respective owners, officers, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, injuries, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my attendance at or participation in the event.
This release includes claims related to ordinary negligence, but does not apply to claims that cannot legally be waived, including gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional harm where prohibited by law. California law generally treats waivers more favorably for ordinary negligence than for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, so this distinction matters.
4. Agreement to Follow Safety Rules
I agree to follow all posted rules, verbal instructions, safety guidelines, venue policies, and directions given by event staff, organizers, vendors, or authorized representatives. I understand that failure to follow rules or instructions may result in removal from the event without refund or further obligation.
5. Medical Responsibility
I understand that I am responsible for determining whether I am physically and medically able to attend or participate in this event. I agree not to participate in any activity that I know or reasonably believe may be unsafe for me.
In the event of an emergency, I authorize event staff or representatives to seek emergency medical assistance on my behalf. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs or expenses incurred as a result of my attendance or participation.
6. Property and Personal Belongings
I understand that I am responsible for my own personal belongings. The event organizer, host, client, venue, vendors, contractors, and media partners are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
I understand that photography and videography may take place during the event. I grant permission for my image, likeness, voice, and appearance to be photographed, recorded, and used by the event organizer, client, Virtues Media, and approved media partners for promotional, marketing, social media, portfolio, documentary, recap, and commercial purposes.
I understand that I will not receive compensation for the use of these images or recordings.
