Application form: The Reflective Teaching Studio

Thank you for your interest in The Reflective Teaching Studio.

This is a small private Slack community for English teachers who want clearer thinking stronger classroom judgement and ongoing access to how an experienced trainer approaches real teaching situations.

Why this space exists

The hard part isn’t ideas, it’s making dozens of decisions every lesson, right?

For example:

• deciding how much to plan and when to adapt • choosing which learner language to focus on • giving feedback in a way that actually helps learning • understanding why some lessons feel coherent and others do not • connecting research ideas to real classroom practice • developing teaching skills beyond basic techniques

These questions are part of everyday teaching, yet many teachers work through them alone.

The Studio was created to provide ongoing professional support with exactly these areas.

What makes this different

Inside the Studio you don't just receive resources. You get direct access to how an experienced trainer thinks through real teaching situations.

This includes:

• seeing how classroom dilemmas are analysed step by step • understanding why certain decisions are made during lessons • comparing your own judgement with experienced perspectives • learning how research concepts apply to real teaching • developing professional confidence over time

What matters here is building clearer judgement as a teacher.

What happens inside the Studio

Members will use the space to ( but not exclusively! You can also vent.)

• bring real classroom moments they want input on • ask questions about planning teaching feedback or classroom interaction • discuss emergent language and how to work with it • reflect on teaching skills such as eliciting monitoring and responding in real time • explore how CPD concepts from CELTA Delta and research apply in practice

Alongside these discussions, members also receive:

• weekly insights based on real CELTA observations teacher training and research reading • short voice notes where I explain why I made specific teaching or training decisions • monthly drop-ins and coffee chats where we work through real classroom cases together • practical frameworks that support planning feedback and lesson flow • guided discussions on core ELT topics such as interaction emergent language and task design • a searchable library of recordings, tools and past discussions • a monthly live webinar on a highly requested topic

Over time this helps teachers:

• plan more efficiently • respond more confidently in class • understand teaching situations more clearly • feel less isolated in their professional thinking
