ICE OUT | Bystander Trainings

Our immigrant communities are under attack, and we say no to state terror, no to mass deportations, and no to state-sanctioned disappearances.

Hands Off CT is a new statewide rapid response collaborative focused on organizing against ICE violence and kidnappings in our community!  We are organizing a series of Regional “ICE Out” Bystander Trainings around the state of Connecticut to train volunteers on the needed knowledge and skills we will need to protect our immigrant community in the event of ICE escalation in CT.

New Haven | Sun May 17 | 3:00-5:00 pm

New Milford | May 19 | 6:30-8:15 pm | Food will be provided

Norwalk | May 19 | 6:00-8:00 pm

Torrington | June 3 | 5:30-8:00 pm | Food will be provided from Nujaim's Newtown | June 13 | 12:00-2:45 pm

At the training you will learn:

What the current ICE presence in the state looks like and what laws exist in CT.

Best practices for what to do if you see ICE in your communities, how safely to record, and other considerations

Safety considerations and your rights when encountering law enforcement

This training is for all new and potential volunteers, as well as a great refresher if you already are a rapid response volunteer in a local community defense organization. These training sessions are PUBLIC! So please invite members from your organizations and your networks.

Hands-Off Connecticut aims to be a collective of community organizations, churches, unions, activists, and immigrants that are committed to protecting CT's immigrant community from ICE and federal immigration enforcement. We know that the most immediate and effective way to protect our immigrant communities is through mass mobilizing and grassroots community organizing.  We aim to gather, support, and uplift local community groups and hyper-local structures that operate and grow across all Connecticut to protect and empower our immigrant communities.

Organize - Protect - Resist
