Join us as a DECADES Host

Paid opportunity to travel through South East Asia - accommodation & in-region travel included (Feb-May 2026)

At DECADES, we create 90-day slow travel experiences for people in their 50s, 60s and beyond — for active retirees who want to explore the world with likeminded others at their own pace. No tour buses, big groups or rushed schedules. Think freedom, discovery, and great places to stay.

We’re now looking for our very first Trip Host to join our pioneering Southeast Asia Chapter (4 February – 4 May 2026).

This is not a tour guide role. It’s something entirely new a chance to travel through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam whilst supporting a small group of 6-8 epic like-minded adventurers along the way and helping them make the most of their once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You’ll be their anchor on the ground: organised, dependable and calm, but with an adventurous twinkle in your eye. You won’t be with the group every day, but when you are, you’re fully present. You’ll make sure travel days and adventure days run smoothly and lend a hand when things don’t go to plan, this is travel after all! You'll share tips, stories and create a few moments that turn a trip into a community.

As our first-ever host, you’ll help design how DECADES trips run on the ground — experimenting, refining, and feeding back on what works best for our travellers. And as we grow, there may be opportunities to host future Chapters too.

This isn’t just hosting; it’s being part of something being built from the ground up. You’ll explore beautiful places, meet fascinating people, and help create a travel experience that proves that adventure truly has no age limit.

What You'll Do

- Lead travel days: guide and support the group as they move between countries and cities.
- Coordinate adventure days: oversee logistics with local partners or step in to lead when needed for a group experience in each location.
- Capture and share stories: document key moments and photos for marketing material, sharing live on our social media channels and stories as you go, and observations for our team back at basecamp. Photography and social media skills would be a real advantage.
- Be the on-the-ground contact: available for advice, tips and support (especially in case of issues or emergencies).
- Stay connected to basecamp: you’ll have regular check-ins with the DECADES team in Europe, who handle most supplier relationships and logistics behind the scenes.
- Handle light logistics: liaise with accommodation, suppliers or drivers when plans change.
- Share your insights: help us evolve the DECADES experience for future hosts and travellers.
- Voice of experience, with empathy: for many guests, this might be their first long-form adventure. You’ll bring reassurance and a presence - a friendly travel companion who has been there, done that and seen it all.
- Creator of unexpected moments: with a little surprise DECADES budget at your disposal, you’ll dream up spontaneous touches to make the trip special - perhaps organising some sunset cocktails or an impromptu food tour.
