Treasurer / Finance Trustee

Frome Festival is looking for a new Treasurer. For over 25 years, we've turned Frome into a 10-day celebration of music, comedy, theatre and everything in between. Behind the scenes, we need someone who can make the numbers work so the magic keeps happening.

You'll help the board read our financial position at a glance, and guide decisions on everything from grant funding to reserves. You'll work closely with our Festival Director and bookkeeper, who handle the day-to-day, while you bring the financial oversight that keeps us sharp and sustainable. Whether you're an experienced finance professional or a first-time trustee, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Type of role: Voluntary trustee position (unpaid)
Responsible to: The Board of Trustees, Frome Festival.
Location: Board meetings in-person, in Frome. You do not need to live in Frome, though a connection to the area is welcome.
Time Commitment: 6 trustee meetings per year, AGM, a few additional hours per month reviewing finances and checking in with the Director and bookkeeper.
This is a voluntary position with an initial term of three years, renewable for up to two additional three-year terms.
As a trustee you will support and challenge the festival director, listen actively, contribute constructively, and work well as part of a team. Your advice and expertise in your specialist area will provide invaluable knowledge and strategic insight.

We're particularly keen to hear from people with oversight of, or experience in, one or more of the following:

- Event or festival finances
- Charity finances, fundraising or Arts Council funding
- VAT, including an understanding of thresholds and how they might apply to a growing charity like ours
We are recruiting on a rolling basis and will close applications as soon as we find the right people, so please don't wait to apply.
