Player Sign Up: You Must Leave This Party Engaged (A Good Society one-shot)

Our Mission:
Whenever possible to promote and feature tabletop roleplaying games created by individuals or by independent presses. 
Across the channel people of color will represent at least 50% of the total cast members.
We aim to present a variety of stories and cast members from outside the US and will actively seek out these opportunities.
Storytellers are responsible to make their worlds diverse- representing NPC humans across the spectrum of humanity that exists in real life. This will be through coding and explicit description. This must be done thoughtfully, without racist representations and stereotypes.

We stand for the following, if you do not, please don't apply.
• Black lives matter.
• Trans women are women. Trans men are men.
• Love is love, all LGBTQIA+ are valid.

About the Game

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and you and your fellow Debutantes must get down to the business of marriage.
You (or your family) have enlisted the aid of the renowned matchmaker, Lady Hortensia Honeywell.
She is throwing the final party of the Season for those of the ton who have failed in this most basic duty. You have one more chance. Before the music ends and the carriages depart, you must all find a fiancé (or fiancée) or face the disapproving gaze of Good Society. Come join us for a fun romp through this Farce! 

 You Must Leave This Party Engaged: A Season Society Oneshot is by Sayer Ziegenhorn, Cris del Carmen, and Kimberly Loftus. This work is based on Good Society (found at storybrewersroleplaying.com/good-society/) a product of Storybrewers Roleplaying, developed and authored by Hayley Gordon and Vee Hendro. It uses elements of Season Society (aerolich.itch.io/season-society), but does not require it for play.

Game Content:

Tone is Farce, with drama for the sake of comedy. Game will include romance, as all players are seeking a partner (either by choice or obligation) and PvP. This is a collaborative game, where PvP occurs for the purpose of adding drama to the story we all want to tell together.
This one shot is part of Nerds with Dice Screens we Share, a GM Learning Month, and will be raising money for Open Cupboard, a free food market located in Maplewood and Oakdale Minnesota

About the Storyteller

Aurora Lore (she/they) has been performing Actual Plays since 2021, with Perception Studios, Winters Tales, Cloudkill Connor, and most recently on Somebody’s Hero “Fall of Taoliva” and JennaDaggers’ Curse of Strahd campaign “Pangs & Fangs.” Aurora is thrilled to return to facilitating Good Society, and hopes to grow as a storyteller for streaming APs. Aurora is a theater & film director, writer, developmental editor, and host of co-working streams on Twitch to support fellow storytellers.

The characters are all debutantes hoping to be engaged by the end of the oneshot. They will be created in collaboration during session 0, using archetypes found in Jane Austen novels and regency stories. (They’re provided for you to choose from!)

Roles and Responsibilities

NWD is responsible for: • Programming decisions, including:
  -Which shows to run, and when
  -DM/ST selections -Graphics and Production -Assisting with Casting
• Ensuring safety & consent is followed and discussed at session 0, and regularly updated throughout seasons/campaigns • Providing uplifting feedback and support for all cast and crew
• Advertising, promotional materials
• Arranging Sponsorships & giveaways
• Financial Transparency

Storytellers are responsible for: • Table safety including:
   -gathering and updating safety & consent forms,
   -confirming red/yellow procedures before, during, and after each session
   -ensuring communication throughout game and during aftercare/through the week
• Being prepared before each session, including maps, session notes, character information etc.
• Arrive at call time 30 minutes prior to live stream for tech & connection building
• If the ST must miss a session giving at least a week's notice to players and channel so that other programming can be arranged. (Obviously emergencies happen, and your mental health and safety are primary concerns to us!)
• Checking in with players throughout the week for the length campaign to ensure that everyone is doing well and to nurture a safe relationship anchor for uncomfortable conversations.
• Bringing concerns to the table without throwing players under the bus or pitting players against each other.

* Whenever possible, ST are NOT responsible to produce or moderate their own stream- allowing them to focus on the game and players

Cast Members are responsible for:

• Table safety (including providing updated consent & safety forms whenever something changes)
• Arriving prepared to call time 30 minutes prior to live stream for tech & connection building
• Having honest conversations with the ST and other players about things that are going well, and when things aren't.
• Being respectful of all people at the table and in the audience.
• Reaching out to NWD staff when extra support is needed.
• Completing monthly safety checkins from channel & ST
• If a player must miss a session giving at least 48 hours notice to DM and other cast, and providing consent to a proxy for the character, or arranging with the DM for the character to be inactive. (Obviously emergencies happen, and your mental health and safety are primary concerns to us!)

Health & Safety

NWD values the health and safety of our community above all else. If for any reason you ever have concerns about a show, cast, player, DM, community member, or chancellor, please reach out to NWD staff. You will never be retaliated against, and we want to help you bring your best to your story with your strongest mental and physical health to every game. 
Speaking with a chancellor implies a certain amount of confidentiality. We will not share/disclose personal health or family situations to the cast or DM of your show. Where possible we will also keep your identity private as well.

Leaving the game

If for any reason you decide that a stream is no longer telling the story you want to tell, it's okay to leave that game. We ask that you connect with a Chancellor first so that we can work with you, the cast, and the graphics/production departments to make the necessary changes. 
Leaving a game never results in retaliation or loss of future opportunities with NWD.

Profit sharing

We at Nerds with Dice are currently reviewing our Profit Sharing model. You'll be notified about how the changes affect any show you're cast in.

Casting, Diversity, and Accommodation

In regards to our above policy that people of color will represent at least 50% of total cast members. We recommend that whenever possible STs make an effort to cast two or more people of color. NWD believes that no marginalized person should be excluded from a game due to bigotry. As such we ask that STs make their table a safe place for women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and more.   

There is no obligation to cast any Chancellor or member of NWD staff. No retaliation for not casting a Chancellor or staff member.
