SOMATIC TRACES: A Movement & Voice Workshop for East and Southeast Asians

SOMATIC TRACES is a 4-session workshop for the East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) community in Amsterdam. Together, we will work with breath, voice, and movement to find what your body already knows about everyday racism, and explore ways to express and release it.

Note on Participation: This is an integrated 4-session journey. To honor the process, all sessions will be documented as part of an ongoing art research project. This material will (partially) be used to develop an experimental film. Your comfort and boundaries matter to us. Consent will be confirmed at the start of each session.

📅 Dates: Sundays — June 7, 14, 21, 28 🕑 Time: 14:00 – 17:00 📍 Location: KABRA, Pieter Nieuwlandstraat 93, Amsterdam 💸 Cost: Free entry (Snacks to share are welcome!) 👥 Capacity: Limited to 15 participants

Priority is given to those who can commit to all four sessions. No performance experience is needed. We invite you to come as you are.

Credits: This workshop is facilitated by YuJing Liu and co-designed by Echo Wang. It is presented as part of the research project A(b)Normal Day, an initiative led by Echo Wang and supported by Fonds ZOZ.
