Oat Bag Issue #3: A Special Edition About Existing and Creating Art Under Fascism

Deadline: April 17th, 2026 (application will be offline at the stroke of midnight (4/18)!)

Submission Guidelines:
Genre: Looking to accept comics, visual essays, prose with illustration, visual poetry, collage, no AI
Theme: This special edition of the bag will focus on stories of resistance and survival. What does it mean to create while at home, Minnesotans fights to keep their people safe from ICE, and as worldwide horrors and fights for freedom abound? Some loose prompts can include: how yourself or others have lived/are living through oppression, what you've seen or heard, the meaning of art right now, the zeitgeist, your thoughts and feelings. The events discussed can be about current or past events. Fictionalized, allegorical and abstract stories are welcome as long as it comes with a clear message.
Protect yourself: This issue and future issues will allow anonymous submissions. Any and all information about you will be kept private, however I do encourage you to do your utmost to protect your identity online should you be from a targeted community.
Examples of vibes accepted: Memoir, surrealism, historical, abstract, allegorical, fiction, non fiction
Vibes not accepted: AI-generated work, the "isms" and the "phobias" (racism, ableism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc.)
File Requirements: All scans/files must be at least 72 DPI (300 is preferred). Please send your story as a PDF. All files must include title and name of illustrator for example: TitleofComic_Anonymous.pdf
Page Limit: 1 to 16 pages
