CIPA endorses candidates who demonstrate genuine commitment to the rights and wellbeing of Native communities across Colorado - especially those in urban, off-reservation, areas.
Complete all required fields and answer each question thoughtfully.
Applications are reviewed and voted on by CIPA membership.

Endorsement Questions

Answer each question as specifically as you can. Where possible, cite concrete experience, policy positions, or past action. Responses are limited to 3,500 characters each.

What does Tribal sovereignty mean to you, and how would that shape your approach to working with Tribal Nations and urban Indian communities in your role?

Describe your past experience engaging with American Indian communities, leaders, or organizations. How have these experiences shaped your views or priorities?

If you have limited direct experience, please be honest about that and describe how you would work you build relationships and learn.

What are the top policy issues you believe most affect American Indian communities in Colorado? If you had limited political capital, how would you prioritize Native issues against other constituency demands?

How would you ensure that American Indian voices are included in policy development on issues that affect our communities. Not just as stakeholder consulted at the end, but as participants who shape the process?

How will you maintain an ongoing, accountable relationship with Native-led organizations like CIPA after the election?

Are there any past voted, public statements, or affiliations that may raise concerns among American Indian communities? If so, how do you address those concerns today?
