Sacred Birth Centre - Post Natal Insights Survey

This survey has been created to enable anyone who has insights and feelings to share connected to their experiences with the post natal phase of the perinatal journey.
The insights collected here will become part of the post natal installation at the Birth Stories project 'My Birth My Voice' exhibition taking place from September 26th to 27th at the Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury. Contributions will remain anonymous. We value the importance of including as many views and experiences as possible.
For more information about the exhibition please click here.
We have decided to include an area in the exhibition on post natal experiences, because it is often a really challenging time for many new parents. Approximately 1 in 5 women experience post natal mental health issues. The increase in these problems, including: postnatal depression, anxiety and PTSD is usually influenced by hormonal shifts, sleep deprivation and a reduction in community support.
We are encouraging you to be as honest as possible in the responses below, especially in terms of those aspects of life that felt intrusive or overwhelming to you during the post natal period.
Thank you for taking the time to share with us on this important topic.
NOTE -
Please refer to just one post natal experience when answering the questions below and you are welcome to do the survey again if you have had more than one child.
This survey will be open until June 30th.

5. What felt intrusive or unhelpful to you during your post natal experience? (Such as your own self doubt, people calling or visiting when you needed rest, social media, others views on baby care and so on).

6. What did you feel or think in relation to this intrusive or unhelpfulness that you experienced? For example if you felt that people coming round to hold the baby was not helpful, a thought on this could be 'People want to hold the baby not clean and cook, which is what I desperately need help with'. (Please be as honest as you like with this, as we feel it is important to capture one's authentic responses to such).

7. What aspects of post natal life did you appreciate or find helpful?

8. What three words come to your mind when you think of post natal?
