Oakridge Fall Fair Volunteer Registration Form

Event Details

Thank you for prayerfully considering volunteering for the annual Oakridge Fall Fair.

Please read this section before registering for the fair.

Event Details
Date: Saturday, Sept 26th 2026
Time: 8 am to 4 pm (including setup and teardown/cleanup)
Location: Oakridge Bible Chapel Lawn and Parking Areas.
Fair Objective
To host a community event for Oakville so that they could come out to Oakridge Bible Chapel and can fellowship with believers, in the hope that they would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their God and glorify Him.
Number of Volunteers - We had 700-800 guests come out last year, this is certainly a burden that a handful of people cannot bear. The goal of the admin team will be to ensure no one person is burdened beyond capacity and that all can enjoy the fair activities as well.
Skills/Talents Requirements - No skill needed for most volunteering positions. We only require that someone be there to host our guests, to direct them and enable them to enjoy the event. There are certain activities that do require some skill - like face painting or making balloon animals, please check the list of places you could volunteer below to see where you'd like to fit in.
Community Service Signoff - We will be more than happy to sign off any community service hours needed for any of the volunteers that require this as part of their high school program. Please reach out to Melvin (416-453-6142) before you sign up.

Volunteer Needs for the day

Crafts Table - Face Painters, small crafts (making necklaces braces etc.).
Bouncy Castle - Monitoring children at one of the three bouncy castles and ensuring order and safety of the kids. Training is required as part of this volunteering activity. You will be required to arrive 15 mins ahead of time for training.
Photo Booth - Take pictures in the dedicated photo section of the fair and provide print outs to guests as they get done. Inviting the guests to take a memorable snap shot of the day.
Welcome Booth - Welcoming the guests and serving them a warm beverage and some snacks as they make their way into the event.
Food Stand - Need people to make popcorn (very easy!) and distribute freezies. Additional help during lunch time and cake cutting ceremony to help distribute the food.
Walk-Around Entertainer - We are looking at people who can make balloon animals or perform sleight of hand tricks to entertain children as you walk around.
Volunteer Relief - A small dedicated group of people to relieve other volunteers from their posts for bathroom breaks or swap overs. Additionally this team will help with any fill-in requirements we may have i.e. moving stuff around, communicating with event organizers etc.
Setup and Teardown - Need a few people to setup a few tables and tents and also take them down once the event is done. You don't need to stay for the entire event. You can volunteer for either setup or teardown, or even come for setup and leave to return for teardown.
Event Photographer - Not necessarily a professional but rather someone who is willing to document the event so that we have an album of great memories
Parking and Traffic Management - We need a few adults to direct traffic and safely guide our guests through the parking lot
Church tours - We need a few people to provide direction to the guests touring the church and viewing our 40th anniversary celebration.
Miscellaneous Help - Filling any role that may be required from the above, or simply helping with the BBQ related particulars
Music - In the past we have simply played a Spotify playlist for the crowds, however if anyone is up to play live Christian music, you are most welcome to sign up.
If you have any suggestions, questions or concerns please email Melvin at melv.george@outlook.com or via mobile: (416) 453-6142.
