Catechesis Ages 3-12 - Spring 2026

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a method in which children ages 3-12 are

invited to encounter the Lord through hands-on experiences of Scripture and liturgy in a

prayerful environment called an atrium. St. Saviour’s Dominican Church offers weekly

catechesis for children during the academic year in three age levels: Level I (ages 3-6

years), Level II (ages 6-9 years), and Level III (ages 9-12 years).

CGS level 3 is officially being offered this year as previously it was a Scripture enrichment course that was being offered for this age group.

The structure of the aged 9-12 atrium is intended to particularly address the child’s growing desire and capacity to wrestle with the mystery of time and their own role in history. It helps the child to grasp the “big picture” of God work in the universe, while at the same time honoring the 9-12 year old’s desire and capacity to work with details of the “whole” that grab their attention and study these in depth.

Children’s catechesis is offered weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5:00pm and every

second Sunday from 11:30am-12:45pm.

I authorise my child(ren) / ward(s) to participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at St. Saviour’s Dominican Church.  I also authorise the activity leaders to give consent to emergency medical or surgical services in the event of my not being readily contactable and to provide medical care. I understand that participants will be well supervised during sessions and I will not hold St. Saviour’s Dominican Church, the Dominican Sisters, or volunteers responsible if an accident should occur.
