Theory & Aural Skills Class Registration

Music theory & aural skills study allow musicians to recognize patterns in music and become fluent in notated music. By understanding the structure and form of the music they're performing, students can access harmonic memory and recount large sections of music from memory, improve sight-reading and improvisational skills, and accelerate their growth on their instrument and as musicians.

Class Selection

Before choosing a session — please see how classes are grouped

Theory & Aural Skills 1 is a conservatory-style musicianship course, guaranteed to help students in auditions, competitions, and instrument repertoire. Classes work through progressively complex rhythm, ear-training, and theory. Students are placed into one of two age-based sections and may move between them as they progress.
Choose your child's section by age, then choose whichever day fits your week — the same
lesson is taught on all four days, so students attend one session per week. Theory & Aural Skills 2A and 2B to be added in the Spring.
