OPEN CALL 2027

Lost Weekend Meets Art (LWMA) × Munich Jewellery Week (MJW)

Open Call for a Collaborative Exhibition
For the third consecutive year, Lost Weekend Meets Art (LWMA) and Munich Jewellery Week (MJW) are joining forces to present a collaborative exhibition celebrating contemporary jewellery, artistic experimentation and cultural exchange.
Lost Weekend Meets Art (LWMA) is an art project dedicated to fostering exchange between artists from around the world, bringing local and international perspectives together and showcasing Munich's vibrant and diverse art scene.
Munich Jewellery Week (MJW) is an annual, independent, artist-run initiative dedicated to contemporary jewellery. Through an editorial and curatorial approach, MJW highlights exceptional work, explores new perspectives and creates opportunities for connection and exchange within the international jewellery community.
Together, LWMA and MJW invite artists to explore the possibilities of contemporary jewellery and body-related objects within an unconventional exhibition setting.

The Exhibition

The exhibition takes place in the unique Lost Weekend Meets Art window exhibition space, located outside Lost Weekend Café, which also serves as the MJW headquarters.
Four individual showcases will be dedicated to four selected artists, each invited to transform their window into a personal exhibition space. These unconventional display environments offer an opportunity to experiment with presentation, challenge traditional exhibition formats and push the boundaries of how contemporary jewellery can be experienced.
Reflecting LWMA's commitment to connecting local and international artists, the exhibition will bring together diverse artistic perspectives from around the world. In line with MJW 2027's editorial focus on Brazil, the exhibition will place particular emphasis on exchange between Brazilian, German and international artists.
Two of the four exhibition positions will be reserved for artists based in Brazil and Germany (one each), while the remaining two positions are open to artists from anywhere in the world.
The exhibition will open during Munich Jewellery Week (10–14 March 2027), accompanied by an opening event and artist talk, and will remain on view until 4 May 2027.
As part of the official MJW programme, the exhibition will be featured in the CO Paper and promoted through LWMA and MJW's official communication channels.
Selected artists will receive a modest financial contribution towards material costs.
