Most coverage of our sport follows the top teams and top performances. As athletes we know that success happens at all levels of competition. We could create a weekly newsletter that highlights athletes around the nation that have had breakout performances.
There are few predictions for XC and T&F and the ones that exist are often far off base. We could make a website where you can create your own predictions for events and compare them with others. It could be like a game. View the community's average ranking, and compete with your friends. Who knows the sport best?
Every XC course is different so its nearly impossible to compare performances. We could use our math background to create a statistically backed conversion between courses. This conversion could allow for better understanding of results and even predictions.
If you want to be involved in the discussion around our sport, one of your only options is LetsRun. And if you're familiar with LetsRun, you are alsofamiliar with negative comments... We could redesign the running message board and create a new home for constructive dialogue around our sport.
There are hundreds of cross-country courses and tracks around the country but there isn't a central place to learn about them. We could create a Wiki page to record communal knowledge around our sport. Each page could keep track of course records, historically significant events, and other important features.
