We are looking for a few more teens to help assist us in our summer sessions. These positions are volunteer or scholarship positions (in return for your work, we reduce your tuition by 75% for the other session). We are currently looking for 2 teen aides for the June Session and 5 teen aides for the July Session.
Our Teen Aides play a significant role in the running of our camp. Although Teen Aides are not staff members and are not expected to hold the same level of responsibility as our adult staff, they are incredibly helpful and a key to making things run smoothly all summer. Some sample duties include:
Assisting with set-up and clean-up: Help prepare the camp space before each session and clean up afterward. This may involve arranging chairs, tables, and props, as well as tidying up the area.
Welcoming and guiding campers: Greet campers as they arrive and help them get settled. Offer guidance and assistance in finding their designated areas, such as classrooms, rehearsal spaces, or performance areas.
Supporting instructors: Assist theatre instructors by setting up and organizing materials needed for activities and workshops. Help distribute handouts, props, or costumes as required.
Providing technical assistance: Assist with technical aspects, such as operating sound during performances or rehearsals.
Assisting with rehearsals: Help coordinate rehearsals by overseeing students and reminding them of cues or lines. Be available to assist with any issues that may arise during rehearsals.
Supervising breaks and transitions: Keep an eye on campers during breaks between activities and ensure a safe and orderly transition from one session to another. Help maintain a positive and inclusive camp environment.
Being a positive role model: Exemplify enthusiasm, respect, and professionalism at all times. Interact with campers in a friendly and encouraging manner, fostering a supportive atmosphere that promotes creativity and growth.
Participating in group activities: Engage in YTU activities, such as warm-ups, games, or team-building exercises, to encourage camaraderie and bonding among campers. Actively participate and encourage others to join in as well.
Assisting with special events or performances: Support the staff during special events, such as showcases or performances. This may involve helping with backstage management, prop handling, or providing assistance to performers.
Offering general assistance: Be available to help with various tasks that may arise throughout the camp, such as organizing supplies, answering questions, or assisting with administrative duties.
